L.F. Abbott
English painter Lemuel Francis Abbott was the son of a clergyman and went to London to study with Francis Hayman in 1776. By the early 1780s Abbott had established a busy portrait practice in London. In 1798 he was certified insane, but continued to exhibit at the Royal Academy in London for two more years. Several of his works were probably finished by another hand.
