Karl Ammann

Karl Ammann is a wildlife photographer and conservation activist. In the past 12 years Ammann has authored widely distributed photo-essay books, including The Orangutan (with Birute Galdikas), Gorilla, Cheetah, The Hunters and the Huntedand Masai Mara. He provided photographs and helped edit the APA Insight Guide Book East African Wildlife and is also the co-author of Eating Ape concerning the chimpanzee. For five consecutive years Ammann has won the prestigious "World in our Hands" category of the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year awards, as well as other category prizes. He is also one of the leading environmetal photographers in the world today.
