Robert Bateman

Bateman was born in Toronto and has had an interest in painting and naturalism since childhood. His work has its roots in ecology and preservation and he acts as a spokeman for several environmental and preservation projects. He has also sold his paintings in limited edition prints in fund-raising efforts for these causes. Bateman's art is included in several royal collections and he is the subject of three books and six films. He is the recipient of numerous honors, awards and honorary doctorates and has had solo exhibitions in museums throughout North America.
