Romero Britto

Britto was born in Recife, Brazil and is a self-taught artist. He rose to popularity in South Florida with his paintings of figures and animals in bold, bright colors patterns with thick, black outlines. His neo-Pop art images often combined with cubism employ several different mediums, including serigraphs, acrylic on canvas and sculpture. With the clear eye and enthusiasm of a child he creates small personal stories in his works that are celebrated throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. Britto has been commissioned to produce images for Pepsi-Cola, ABSOLUT Vodka, the Smithsonian Institution, and St. Jude's and St. Christopher's Children's Hospitals. He has also produced original pieces for Gloria Estfan, Arnold Schwartzenegger and Michael Jordan. His work remains exciting and continues to change, challenging artistic boundries.
