Richard Calvo
Richard Calvo has been winning awards for his photography since the mid 1960s when, as an Army combat correspondent, he photographed and reported on U.S. military operations in Southeast Asia. Educated as a journalist, his camera work is what brings him recognition. By the early 1970s Calvo put his writing aside to make a living as a commercial photographer in New York. With his deceptively simple style, his works, mainly landscapes, demand a sense of reality. Calvo's work has been compared to the works of Robert Frost and Andrew Wyeth.
