Michael Chase

Over the course of his long and distinguished career Michael Chase has participated in a number of one-person, group and mixed exhibitions including the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, The Royal Society of Painters and Etchers and Engravers at the Bankside Gallery in London. He also regularly exhibits with his wife, the artist Valerie Thornton. Chasel's work is held in many public collections including the city art galleries in Plymouth, Leicester and Portsmouth, The Department of the Environment, and many local education authorities around Britain. His work is also to be found in many private collections around the world. Chase was Manager of the Zwemmer Gallery from 1954 to 1965 and Director/Curator of the Minories (Art Gallery) in Colchester from 1966 to1974
