Charles Crombie
Charles Crombie's Rules of Golf are a witty visual treat in which Crombie has twisted the sense of rules governing the royal and ancient game to great effect. Each print is an interesting interplay between one of the rules of the sport and the image created by Crombie which acts as a visual pun to the text. Unfortunately, very little is recorded about Crombie's life, although his style is typical of the leading cartoonists of the early twentieth century and is still immensely popular today.
