Doug Dawson
Doug Dawson received his Bachelor of Science degree at Drake University. He taught art classes in the Denver Public Schools for six years. In 1985, Doug was awarded the title of Master of Pastel by the Pastel Society of America. He is a member of the PSA, the Knickerbacker Artists and the American Watercolor Society. He has received awards from them as well as the National Academy of Western Art, the Kansas Pastel Society, the Pastel Society of the Southwest and the Rocky Mountain National Watermedia Exhibition. He has been published in Southwest Art Magazine, Artist's Magazine, and Tonel Value. He shows at Saks Gallery, Ventana Gallery of Santa Fe, Dubins Gallery in Santa Monica, the Rosenbaum Gallery in Miami, and the Valhalla Gallery in Kansas. Doug's work can be found in numerous books on pastel in the United States and Europe. He is the author of "Capturing Light and Color in Pastel".
