Rachel Deacon

Rachel Deacon was born in London and studied at Chelsea School of Art, graduating in 1991. She bases her work on poetry or short stories, creating a scene or situation in drawings and focusing mainly on the female figure. The geometric shapes and angles of the female figure are used to create a strong design and this is coupled with bold lines and rich colors and surface textures. Rachel is inspired by painters such as Paula Rego, Modigliani and Frida Kahlo. She has exhibited her work many times in this country and currently lives and works in London where the majority of her current exhibitions are held.
