Jim Dine
James Dine was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on June 16,1935. He received his education in art at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts School and at Ohio University. His early works are considered combines, a painted canvas with a found object attached to it. The three-dimentional objects he includes in his works include household items, such as gardening tools, clothing and shoes. He reorganized traditional thoughts about these commom objects through visual puns. In the 1970's he became more interested in graphic media where he masterd the use of line and texture. In addition to painting, Dine is a graphic artist, a coauthor of several books, a sculptor and a poet, and is considered part of the Pop Art movement
