Colin Fraser
Colin Fraser studied art in Brighton from 1974 to 1978 and now lives and works in Sweden. Since 1983 he has worked full-time as a painter, working primarily in egg tempera, a mixture of colored pigments and egg yolks applied to a chalk ground known as gesso. It is through the use of this medium that his paintings achieve their extraordinary luminosity. Having spent the last few years experimenting with this complex art form and perfecting this ancient process Fraser has created a strong body of work where colors reflect light, allowing everyday objects to assume an intense meaning.
