Marta Gottfried

Marta Gottfried’s art and personality plainly reveal the inspiration for many of her pieces. Gottfried was formally trained at Otis Parsons School of Design and lists her grandmother, also an artist, as a creative influence. Her imagery is as captivating as the artist herself. Influenced by the Impressionist painters of the late 19th Century, her work seduces the viewer into an alluring world of romantic figurative. The subtle range of soft tones accented with a touch of gilding are the trademark of Gottfried’s style. Gottfried was born in Mexico City and is of Irish, Cherokee, and European descent. She is also a singer & songwriter and is passionately involved with the conservation of the environment.
