Paul Hargittai
Paul Hargittai is an internationally acknowledged textile designer and painter living in Paris. Born in Budapest, Hungary on July 5, 1923, he spent his childhood and youth in Budapest. Paul grew up in a loving family. In his childhood he began to draw regularly - illustrating even his nursery tales. From the age of fourteen he practiced drawing from models and studied lithography. He was planning to be an ornithologist in order to draw birds. Paul studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest from 1943-1947. Upon completion of his studies he began the successful start of his career becoming a graphic artist and textile designer, first in Rome, then in New York, remaining there for 12 years. He finally went on to Paris and Florence where he currently has his studio. He speaks the international language of fine arts as well as Hungarian, English, French and Italian, while maintaining bonds to his Hungarian culture.
