Claire Harrigan
Scottish born Claire Harrigan studied at the Glasgow School of Art, graduating in 1986. A love of travel has been a major component in Harrigan's color soaked landscapes and still life paintings. In particular, the tropical flowers and foliage of the West Indies have influenced her choice of beautiful subject matter and warm color harmonies. Her regular working expeditions to America, Europe, Asia and the West Indies always bring her back to her home in South Ayrshire, Scotland. Harrigan's appointment as a member of the Royal Scottish Watercolor Society in 1992 is testimony to her dedication to Scottish painting. Her exhibitions however, have not been confined to north of the border. Her work has also been shown in London, Hong Kong and Japan.
