Gerald Harvey
A childhood inclination toward drawing proved to be as permanent a part of his make-up as was the Texas Hill country. He graduated cum laude from North Texas State University and subsequently accepted a position with the University of Texas. In 1963, he left teaching to commit himself full time to his art. Just two years later he won acclaim with his first show, The Grand National Exhibition in New York and for winning the New Masters Award from the American Artists Professional League. Since that time Harvey has worked steadily at the easel and in the process has achieved a distinguished reputation. His art continues to intrigue and captivate through his skilled use of light in dramatic settings, his considerable talent and his quest for perfection.
