James Hayllar
Much of James Hayller's early career was devoted to portrait painting, but in his late 30s he began to paint delightful compositions of children, many in scenes of village life. Many of these works were painted at Castle Priory, near the Thames at Wallingford. Four of his daughters were also talented artists. Hayllar exhibited at the RA for nearly 50 years from 1850.
