Bill James
Bill James is a BFA graduate of Syracuse University and now lives and works from his home and studio in Miami, Florida, doing both freelance illustration and exhibiting his award-winning pastels, watercolors and oils. His works as an illustrator are included in many corporate collections throughout the country and have been accepted extensively in American Illustration, the Illustrators Annuals, and the Communication Arts Illustrators Annuals–including a feature article in the May/June 1982 issue of Communication Arts magazine and in the May/June 1995 issue of Step-by-Step magazine. His works as a fine artist are represented by the Lagerquist Gallery, the Telluride Gallery of Fine Art, the Summa Gallery, and the Coconut Grove Gallery. Several of James? watercolors are featured in two books entitled The Artistic Touch and Artistic Touch 2 published by Creative Art Press. Watson-Guptill?s book Painting Faces and Figures features both his pastel and watercolor styles. Several of his pastels are featured in a book titled The Best of Pastel published by Rockport Publishers. He has two pastels and one watercolor in a book published by North Light Books titled The Best of Portrait Painting. One of his pastel paintings will be included in a book titled The Best of Flower Painting 2 published by North Light Books. He has three pastels and one watercolor included in a book titled Portrait Inspirations published by Rockport Publishers. There will be an article concerning his oil painting in an up-coming issue of a magazine called The Pastel Journal.His watercolor painting titled Stocking Cap was included in a traveling exhibition, Contemporary Portraits in Watercolor with some of America?s foremost watercolorists.
