Emma Jeffryes

Emma Jeffryes studied at Middlesex University and then at The Royal College of Art where she gained a Master's Degree in Printed Textiles. Throughout her student days, she worked as a successful freelance designer on a wide variety of projects ranging from swimwear fabric to soft furnishing fabrics and rugs. Painting has always been of great importance to Jeffryes, both in it's own right and as a source of inspiration for her textile designs. Working chiefly in acrylics, Jeffryes enjoys painting directly from life, recording on paper her immediate response to her surroundings. This lends her work a certain freshness that captures the atmosphere of the coastal scenes she loves to paint. Admitting to being greatly influenced by the sea, Jeffryes lives and works in Cornwall.
