Carol Jessen
Born in Oakland, California, Carol Jessen graduated from San Francisco State University. She attended the Mendecino Art Center in 1976 as well as the Academy of Art in the San Francisco 1976-79, and took part in the San Francisco Art Institute weekly open studio from 1977-1985. In 1979-1980, Carol visited Japan for a nine month study of woodblock printing and in 1982 and 1984 took part in intensive, one month workshops in woodblock printing emphasizing the techniques taught by master printmaker, Toshi Yoshida. Since 1984, Carol has exhibited her works at the Fort Mason Art Center in San Francisco. Her work consists of woodblock print, watercolors/water-media, and pastels. She has had numerous exhibitions in the Bay Area.
