Maureen Jordan
Maureen Jordan has been a freelance interior and graphic designer for most of her life, involved in the design of shops, exhibitions, offices and hotels. This work involves selecting colours and materials from rough tiles for a rustic restaurant and knobbly fabric for an office reception, to shimmering silks for a luxury apartment. Now, as a full time artist, she is still very much interested in colour and textures and constantly experiments with soft pastels, her favourite medium. She sometimes mixes fibre and pastels with water-colour, acrylics and metals, creating stunning effects of bold colour and texture. Maureen Jordan studied at the Kingston Upon Hull College of Arts & Crafts. She has exhibited with prestigious organisations throughout the country such as the Pastel Society, the National Trust, Mall Galleries, National Society of Painters, United Society of Artists, Chelsea Arts Society and many more. Her works can be found in private collections in the UK, America, Australia, South Africa, France and Hong Kong.
