Ed King
Ed King was born in beautiful West Virginian Greenbrier country. On December 12, 1997, at the age of 60, Ed passed away. For almost three decades he and his wife Karolyn lived in Virginia where they developed a deep love for the mountains and river valleys that surrounded their home. In addition to painting, Ed was founder and CEO of a Virginia based corporation; Air Filter Systems, Inc. Using primarily watercolor, oil and pastel, Ed utilized a fresh, individual approach in the realistic presentation of his subject matter. He also actively engaged in painting still life, wild life and landscapes of subjects found in the beautiful Blue Ridge area of Virginia. Ed exhibited his works in Virginia, West Virginia and Ohio. His paintings and limited edition prints are in private and corporate collections throughout the United States and are sold through fine art galleries. Ed maintained a realistic approach to his painting with an emphasis on highlight and shadow. Additionally, he believed that drawing was the basic and essential springboard to painting.
