Thomas Kinkade
Instilled in him as a child were the simple, life affirming values which inspire him to paint. A devout Christian, he credits the Lord for both the ability and the inspiration to create his paintings. His goal as an artist is to touch people of all faiths and to bring peace and joy into their lives through the images he creates. He first won acclaim in the art world when, after spending a summer on a sketching tour, he produced the best-selling book “The Artists Guide to Sketching”. The success of the book landed him a job at Ralph Bakshi Studios where he created background art for the animated feature “Fire and Ice." After the film, Kinkade was able to earn his living as a painter, selling his originals in galleries throughout California. In 1982, he married his childhood sweetheart and in all his art today you can find hidden “N”’s, paying tribute to his wife Nanctle. Also in many of his works are the names and images of his four daughters. He has received numerous awards including most recently Graphic Artist of the Year (for the third year in a row). His images today can be found in galleries around the country.
