Grant Leier

Grant Leier was born in Lloydminster Saskatchewan in 1956. He graduated with a major in textiles and illustration in 1978 from the Alberta College of Art in Calgary. It was here that Grant became fascinated with pattern and decoration. “I feel a need to inject intense colour, pattern, and a sense of celebration into everything I paint. More than anything I want my images to evoke a sense of well-being and goodness.” Grant now lives on a farm near Ladysmith, British Columbia, on Vancouver island, where he shares a studio with his wife Nixie Barton, who is also an artist. Grant’s original paintings can be found in galleries across Canada and are collected worldwide.
