Bettina Paterson
Bettina Paterson was born in Hampstead, London in 1960. Having gained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Visual Studies at Oxford Brooks University, she went on to study Advanced Graphic Design at St. Martin's School of Art. After college Paterson worked as a freelance illustrator and in 1985 she illustrated her first children's book, Bun and Mrs. Tubby, which triggered her interest in animal characters. Paterson has been interested in drawing and painting since her early childhood, winning her first painting prize at the age of seven in a Kellog's children's competition. Paterson lives in Barnes, London with her husband and son and concentrates mainly on illustrating children's books and designing illustrations for cards.
