Mandy Reinmuth
Mandy Reinmuth's work is widely considered contemporary Pop Art or Lounge Art. Born in Leipzig Germany, Mandy grew up in Markkleeberg, which is a suburb of Leipzig. She began painting as a child, and after High School she studied Art at the Gutenberg school in Leipzig until 1998, after which time she trained as a decorator in a furniture store for 3 years. After finishing her training, she started a private firm specializing in window dressing, events and fairs. In 2003 she shifted to illustration as her preferred medium. She developed this illustration style to address her need for this type of trendy imagery to decorate stores. She taught herself how to use a number of graphic programs and began to build a large body of work in this vein. Inspired by the recent resurgence in popularity of clubs and lounges, Mandy's work reflects the new music trends that one might hear in such places. The Lounge trend references the 50's, 60's and 70's which can be seen in Mandy's images. The artists describes her pieces as: "trendy, sexy and cool".
