Howard Schatz

Howard Schatz is an award-winning photographer now living in New York where he has set up his studio with his project director and editor, Beverly Ornstein. At this time, a total of eight books have been published displaying his photographic collections. He has also exhibited extensively around the world and his photographs are include din the permanent collections of numerous museums. Schatz's favorite subjects are dancers, admiring their focus and stamina and deep sense of what is instinctively correct when it comes to movement. His photographs of dancers depict them as phenomenal objects, graceful, poetic and powerful; explosive or ecstatic in motion; elegant and elemental while at rest. The range of his work with its strength, tenderness, clarity, sexiness and romance reflects his vision. It continually refers to the dancers themselves, to their physical nature, their world, lifestyle and lives.
