Glen Scouller
Glen Scouller studied at Glasgow School of Art and, as a postgraduate in 1973, was awarded a travelling scholarship to Greece. Travelling widely throughout Europe, like so many of his Scottish predecessors, he has found a particular attraction to the countryside and quality of light in Provence and Tuscany. His work involves the use of strong, rich, saturated colors and a feeling for paint, its character, texture and tonality. Scouller prefers to paint 'en plein air' or directly in front of his subject matter in the studio. In 1998 he was elected a member of The Royal Scottish Society of Watercolorists and he is a regular exhibitor at the Royal Scottish Academy, Edinburgh and The Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts. His works can also be found in private collections throughout the world.
