Peter Sculthorpe
Sculthorpe executes his landscapes of the Brandywine Valley in Chester County, Pennsylvania using watercolor. His paintings are noted for their dusky skies and beautiful stone buildings. At times the artist incorporates etching, monotype and stone lithography into his work to enhance the scene. Sculthorpe has received several awards and honors, including the American Artist Professional League Award, the Philadelphia Sketch Club Silver Medal and First Prize in oil painting for the National Arts League, New York. His work is included in the public collections of the Brandywine River Museum, the Delaware Art Museum, the Springfield Art Museum in Missouri and the Dupont Company in Japan.
