Simon Silva

Born in Mexico, Simon Silva believes art is a powerful medium, able to change the way we look at things by reaching our innermost feelings. Silva immigrated to the U.S. in 1962 and settled in the small town of Holtville, California. From a family of eleven children, he grew up working fields as a migrant worker, aspiring to continue his education and become an artist. Silva received his A.A. degree in art from Imperial Valley College and his B.F.A. from the Art Center of Design in Pasadena, California. After freelancing for a few years he went to work at Lockheed as a commercial artist.
