Scott Steele
Intense architectural detailing, powerful expression and a photo-realistic style are the trademarks of Scott Steele, Canadian born painter. Steele's work captures and preserves the feel and mood of a particular place and time, and welcomes viewers to his canvas. Steele's recent body of work recreated the streetscapes and storefronts he has seen on his extensive world travels. Whether it's an Italian bakery, a Parisian balcony or a breakfast scene at a quaint Paris cafe, Steele strives to convey the intimacy he sees between architecture and life. There is a sense of optimism in each signature brush stroke, an understanding of the relevance of design, the significance of architecture and it's ability to transform landscapes and ways of experiencing the world. Steele's passion for design and architecture are a natural extension of his formal training. A student of George Brown College in Toronto, and the International Academy of Design, Steele has a diploma in interior design and ran a successful interior design business with his wife Judy, until the call of the canvas drew him to pursue a full-time career as a professional artist. His current work centers on photo-realism, urban settings from travels, but he is also painting works that follow the abstract style. As his art is evolving, Steele believes he will never focus solely on one style of painting. His desire to fulfill his artistic goals requires that he pursue a variety of styles.
