Bob Timberlake
Timberlake started painting at the age of 33 after he was incouraged to persue an art career during an impromptu visit to the home of artist Andrew Wyeth in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania. He brought his paintings to Hammer Galleries in New York a year later and was accepted on-the-spot to become a gallery artist. He paintings, often of old quilts, rocking chairs and rustic homes are reminders of America's past. The U.S. postal service commissioned Timberlake to design a Christmas stamp in 1980 which led to designing statehood stamps for North and South Carolina. Today his work is recogined by people, organizations and museums worldwide.
